Changing landscape of arbitration in India has witnessed laudable efforts by Government of India including amendments to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 by Amendment Act of 2015, passage of the Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2018, amongst others. Parliament and Judiciary are taking pro-active steps to support the cause of dispute resolution through arbitration. Though the impact from these efforts has been significant, there is always room for further improvement. Further, certain issues and concerns needs to be ironed out. It is in this context and in a bid to map the way forward, the ICA is organising a Conference on “Strengthening Arbitration in India: The Way Forward” on 02nd February 2019 from 10:00 a.m. onwards at Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi. We are glad to inform you that HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE DEEPAK GUPTA, JUDGE, SUPREME COURT OF INDIA has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest and will deliver Inaugural Address.

The Inaugural Session will be followed by Panel Discussion, which will be chaired by Hon’ble Ms. Justice Hima Kohli, Judge, Delhi High Court. The other speakers in the Conference consist of best arbitration minds who will deliberate on all processes involved in creating a robust and cost effective arbitration ecosystem. The Conference is expected to be attended by Retired Judges; Arbitrators; Senior officials from public and private sector; Senior members of the legal fraternity including Advocates; Chartered Accountants; Company Secretaries etc.
